-Bulletin boards are a creative way to not only free up space on your nightstands, but also a great way to keep necklaces and bracelets untangled – we all know what a hassle that can be!

-If you are looking for more storage in your bedroom, you may want to look at a platform bed or a bedframe with storage built in. With a platform bed, you are able to store many items underneath and can hide them with a long bed skirt.

-For front yard/backyard items, investing in a garden bench with hidden storage is the perfect way to add a little charm to your outdoor space while also hiding all your gardening essentials. 

-A coat rack is the perfect entryway accessory to store coats, long scarves and purses, and can free up much needed space in your closets. Win-win!

-If you have young children, you may find yourself constantly staring into an endless mess of toys, stuffed animals, games and puzzles. There are so many adorable toy chests on the market that can add a fun look to the room while also being a central place for all your kids’ toys and entertainment. 

-Lastly, floating wall shelves are a great place to store books, pictures, toys, décor, etc. They are perfect for filling empty wall space and serve as extra storage for items that don’t take up a lot of room.

When you think of the Thanksgiving holiday what comes to mind? Probably warm, hearty food, a table filled with festive centerpieces, a football game or two and spending time with those you love most. The holiday is also traditionally a time for people to reflect on what they are grateful for and all the blessings that fill their lives throughout the year. 

As defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, gratitude is ‘the state of being grateful, thankfulness.’ In the spirit of the holiday, we wanted to dedicate today’s blog post on ways to show gratitude in your day to day lives in hopes to keep the Thanksgiving spirit alive throughout the year. 

-Be thoughtful of others by considering their feelings with every word spoken and action taken.
-Let someone know exactly how you feel by giving a detailed example of appreciation.
-When interacting with others, make eye contact to show you are present in the conversation and engaged with what they are saying.
-Be gracious when someone challenges your words, actions or views and respectfully listen to their point of view.
-Share in other people’s joys and victories as if they were your own. 
-Be patient with others as everyone is fighting their own battles that you may know nothing about. 
-Take a few moments each night to write down little things that happened in your day that you are grateful/thankful for. This is a great activity to find and highlight the good things in your life, no matter how small.

-Your front door is the focal point of your whole porch and should not be forgotten! Try adding a fresh coat of paint, hanging a decorative wreath on the door and/or adding a doormat to spruce up the entrance. 

-If you have the room, adding a pair of chairs to your front porch is such an easy way to make a big statement. When most people see chairs on a porch, they envision spending quality time with family and friends while the kids play in the front yard. It’s quaint, welcoming and will pull at the heart strings of your potential buyers.

-Incorporating plants/flowers in the foreground is a great way to not only add greenery and a splash of color, but also can be a fun way to guide guests to the entrance of your home. This adds to the curb appeal of your home and can also be a fun project for you and your family to do together!

-To keep your front porch area cool during the warmer Omaha, NE months you can install a ceiling fan, which also doubles as a great way to keep the pesky bugs away. With colder temperatures on the horizon you may find yourself swapping your t-shirts and sandals for winter shoes, colorful scarves and heavy jackets. It is important to remember that as you transition for the shorter and chillier days ahead that you also make adjustments for your pets to ensure their happiness and safety this season. Below we have listed a few winter care tips for your furry four legged family members! 

-As outside temperatures drop, chances are you will crank the heat to warm up your home – we don’t blame you! But did you know that the heat could dry out your pet’s skin and in turn cause irritation? To avoid this, keep a humidifier in your home to help keep everyone’s skin hydrated. 

-Be sure to bring outdoor dogs and cats inside overnight. Nighttime temperatures can drop drastically at times and you want to make sure your pets are safe from these frigid conditions. A good rule of thumb is if it’s too cold for you, its too cold for them. 

-When your pet’s do go outdoors be sure to watch for signs of frostbite, even if your cat or dog has only been outside for a short amount of time. The most susceptible areas of their bodies are tails, legs and paws and it doesn’t take much for frostbit to kick in. 

-To expand on the above tip, you may want to invest in a sweater or coat (especially for short-hair pets) to help them stay warm outdoors.

-Be sure to never leave pets in a car alone during the cold weather, no matter how short a time you will be gone for. 

-In order to prevent burns and injuries, you always want to make sure to always keep cats and dogs away from any heat sources in your home.

-We all know how excited dogs can get to frolic and play in fresh snow, however there are more dogs that get lost during the winter months than at any other time of the year. Always be sure to keep dogs on leashes and make sure to keep ID tags on their collars in the event they get out of your sight.
