by Nancy Heim-berg

Five Ways To Fall Back In Love With Your HomeWhether you have been in your house for two years or two decades, there comes a point where things start to feel stale and you may even catch yourself daydreaming about a different, newer home. Unless you have the budget (and patience) for a home renovation, you may be wondering how you can breathe new life into your current home.

In today’s blog we are going to be covering five ways for you to fall back in love with your home all over again through a couple of simple changes. Let’s dive in:

-Getting organized is a great way to revitalize your space and make your home feel larger and more alive. Spend some time getting rid of junk, clutter and items that you don’t need/use in areas such as drawers, shelves, closets, countertops, etc. With the items that are remaining utilize organizers such as boxes, bins and holders to make your rooms feel new and manageable.

-A fresh coat of paint is a great and cost effective way to completely transform the look and feel of your home. You can express your style and personality with a fun accent wall color or go crazy with funky color in the spare bedroom. You will be amazed how much paint can transform your space and make your home feel fresher, newer and brighter.

-Lighting is another feature of a home that can drastically impact the feel of any room.  Updating light fixtures, incorporating lamps and even cleaning windows can bring more light in and brighten up your entire space.

-Adding an area rug is a relatively small change that can make a big impact on a room. Utilizing a larger rug can make a room can appear larger and add warmth, color and texture to any space.

-Lastly, rearranging furniture has transformative powers to when it comes to changing the way you feel about your home. You can make a space feel brand new by moving existing furnishings around and even adding in new pieces here and there. You will feel like you are vacationing in your own home!

Five Simple Steps To Fall Back In Love With Your Omaha, NE Home

by Nancy Heim-berg
Five Simple Steps To Fall Back In Love With Your Omaha, NE HomeAt some point the sparkle and charm of your home may begin to wear off. And when that happens people may look to plant the “For Sale” sign and move on to a new property. But what if we told you there were a few tips and tricks to make you fall back in love with your Omaha, NE house again? Interested? We thought so, let’s dive in!

1. The first step to loving your home again is to clear the clutter. It is easy for spaces to feel small and closed off and cause you to think you have outgrown your current square footage. Clearing unnecessary items is a great way to open your home and allow you to use the space in a more efficient way.

2. Second, let there be light – literally! Adding light into your home is a wonderful way to make spaces feel brighter and more welcoming and doesn’t have to break the bank. Go room by room to evaluate and add lighting where you feel necessary.

3. Next, incorporate a few accent pieces to bring life to your abode. This doesn’t have to break the bank, either. Simply adding a new painting, foliage, cozy chair, bookcase, bright rug and/or coffee table may be just enough to transform the room entirely.

4. Do you have that one area of your home that always bothers you when you walk by? Maybe it’s the guest bathroom, the color of your kitchen cabinets or flooring in the kids’ room. There is no time like the present for a small renovation – if your budget allows. Save money by taking a few weekends to DIY!

5. Lastly, nothing makes a home sparkle more than a deep clean and it may be just what your space needs! Whether you take a weekend to do it yourself or hire a company to come in, you may look at your home in a whole new light after a thorough clean!
